ACTUALLY, IF IT IS NOT ILLEGAL WHEN THE PRESIDENT DOES IT, WE ARE ALL IN TROUBLE

In an odd twist, another former United States Senator from California, who became the Vice President of the United States, lost an election for President and moved back to California. That former Vice President ran for Governor of California, a post a number of friends at the Democratic National Committee, where I have been working think might be a logical move for Vice President Harris, That Vice President was Richard Nixon. Nixon had lost a close election with a popular vote margin of 0.17% to Senator John F. Kennedy of Massachusetts. Nixon returned home to California and challenged incumbent Democratic governor Pat Brown in 1962. I was 12 years old, but I followed the election very closely. Governor Brown was an incumbent governor, and many people thought that Nixon's service as Dwight Eisenhower's Vice President and his strong showing in the national 1960 election would make him formidable candidate. Richar Nixon, the man from Lorma Linda, CA lost to Pat Brown 51.94% to 46.87%. Close, but no cigar. The nation had not heard the last of Richard Nixon. My dad said, " He'll be back, but that night he appeared before 100 reporters at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Nixon lashed out at the media, proclaiming that "you don't have Nixon to kick around anymore, because, gentlemen, this is my last press conference". We all know what happened next.
