This is Actually Happening!

This is actually happening is usually what I say to myself every morning when I wake up and I realize the vision in my right eye has pretty much gone and after I remember I am still fighting for my left eye against inexplicable Optic Neuritis attacks.?

Don’t get me wrong, I wake up every day grateful for each moment I feel good. It just seemed fitting when I randomly submitted my story to This is Actually Happening, a podcast hosted by the incredible Whit Missildine which has 300,000 subscribers. Whit took me on a deep dive talking about the correlation between ACE’s (Adverse childhood Experiences) and autoimmune disorders and how Rafael, my quarantine blow-up doll companion, came to be, what he means to me, and how I published a book about him in order to help other patients.

Though Rafael bares all wearing only a Speedo, we have never shared my story like this.
