Everywhere online I find articles and websites dedicated to getting your life to new heights. They offer the quick fix or a clever practice to put in place. Now, that is all fine and well but what about actual philosophy. I would like to recommend an online magazine called AEON.
Full disclosure, I just finished an edit session and color corrections on three interview pieces for the Online video section of AEON’s Online magazine. The first of those three edits just went live on Aeon. Here is the Video Link.
The first interview of the series is from Professor Jesse Prinz. Professor Prinz is the Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Committee for Interdisciplinary Science Studies at the City University of New York, Graduate Center.
Aeon speaks to Professor Prinz about the Philosophy of “Wonder”. In this original Aeon interview, philosopher Jesse Prinz tells Nigel Warburton how wonder makes humans unique. Aeon offers a wide rang of interlocking topics: Philosophy, Science, Psychology, Health, Society, Technology & Culture. The url is: aeon.com/magazine.
I have signed on to many newsletters, online magazines and blogs over the years. Aeon is the first one that I really appreciate reading on a regular basis. They offer thoughtful articles that are short and have a point. I always finish a story having learned something important. They slow down this crazy paced world and look at the bigger story and how it relates to the world.
I will post the additional interviews when are added. Professor Massimo Pigliucci talks about death Video Link: For the Stoic, death is an open door, and the freedom to walk through it enables us to live a virtuous life - watch VIDEO and Professor Tim Maudlin talks about the big bang.
