Actom putting a dent to skills shortages.
ACTOM Training Centre (ATC) first opened its doors in 1988 in Benoni. Some of the apprentices that were trained since then are now Executives in our company.
ATC has extended their training scope in training apprentices to external companies, as well as assisting with Work-Based-Experience for those who need it. We recently got re-accredited last year November 2021. We now offer ARPL (Artisan’s Recognition of Prior Learners) assessments and gap training.
ATC is also in partnership with a TVET college to host their non-technical learners. To this point, ATC has accommodated more than 100 apprentices since the beginning of the year, with different services ranging from institutionalized training, ARPL, Trade Test Preparation to name a few. This has never happened before in the history of ATC.
ATC plans to venture in First Aid, Health & Safety, Forklift driving, NQF2 – NQF4 Learnership accreditation, which is a demand throughout the group at the moment.
At the moment, ATC is in the process of moving to a new and bigger premises, still at the Knights site, in order to accommodate the amount of learners both from external companies and ACTOM divisions. At the new premises, ATC will be able to apply for accreditation for a Trade Test Centre.
ATC is looking forward to a fruitful network with current and future partners.
