Active Digital Twins for Port Operations: OPTICS

Critical and Intelligent infrastructure like Ports, Transportation (Airports), Utilities, and Security Command Centers are incredibly complex operations that combine multiple information systems to provide situational awareness for their operators and administrators. Active Digital Twins combine those systems into a single “pane of glass” and present the real-time data to the operator in a way that looks like the real world to optimize assessment.

OPTICS (Overall Port Tactical Information Computer System) is a high-resolution, dynamic 3D Active Digital Twin of the Port of Corpus Christi (PCCA). OPTICS displays active vessel presence and movement information from ship transponders (AIS) and security information to provide a cohesive and tactical overview of Port situational awareness in real-time.?

OPTICS is a custom solution built with The Acceleration Agency’s Project Gemini Active Digital Twin platform. Fifty square miles of the Port of Corpus Christi area is displayed using a combination of ArcGIS base layers (several different styles can be selected to display), 3D buildings, a water layer, 3D vessels and 3D vehicles to present a highly detailed and realistic view on desktop and mobile devices.

This looks great! Good job on being able to compress so much data and still keep it clear from the UX perspective, will definitely take notes for our similar, albeit smaller solution!
