You Become Stronger at What You Do Most
If you want to become a strong runner, you must run. If you want to lift big weights, you must start with light weights and lift regularly to build up your muscles.?
AND if you want to have a strong sense of optimism or an unshakeable core of calm or serenity, you must work the corresponding emotional “muscles.” Regularly pause to notice what’s good and right and possible. Each day, slow down to take a deep breath and remind your body what Calm feels like and where it lives inside of you.?
The more you remind your body how to visit those energies, the easier it can find them in challenging times. (The same applies to Anxiety and Worry and Anger – if you’ve practiced those every day, they have become your dominant emotions. You CAN make different choices.)
Just as those daffodils have evolved to arrive in spring yet still stand up to a wintry chill, you can build the strength in you to stand tall when life sends you unexpected burdens and look ahead with calm and positive expectation no matter the storms around you.?
Remember, Happiness is less a place to live than a place to visit, and the more often you “practice” it, the easier it becomes to go there when you need a safe resting place from your crazybusy life!
