The American Chemical Society (ACS) Publications Division has announced a significant new partnership with Kudos, aimed at enhancing the visibility and impact of research aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This collaboration will see ACS Publications joining the SDG Knowledge Cooperative, a pioneering initiative spearheaded by Kudos that unites publishers to improve access to and understanding of research that supports global sustainable development.
The partnership will enable ACS to leverage Kudos' expertise in identifying high-impact articles within its journals that contribute to the advancement of the SDGs. ACS has pinpointed seven specific goals that are particularly vital to the chemistry community, which will serve as focal points for this initiative. Kudos will assist in curating and summarizing these selected articles, making them more accessible to a wider audience, including industry leaders, educators, policymakers, and the media.
In addition to this initiative, ACS is sponsoring Kudos’ ongoing research into the alignment of researchers, universities, and funders with the SDGs. This study aims to provide actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholders interested in engaging with sustainable development opportunities. The findings from this research are expected to be published next month, offering a comprehensive overview of how various sectors can contribute to the SDGs.
Through this partnership, ACS Publications and Kudos are poised to play a pivotal role in fostering a deeper understanding of the intersection between chemistry and sustainable development, ultimately driving innovation and encouraging positive change across multiple sectors.
