Across the Board

Movement is a constant theme throughout my work. My initial goal is to invite the viewer in for a closer look. Then I want to keep their interest by becoming intimate with the details, their eyes moving from one spot to the next to learn more of the story. I do not plan these pieces, they are all spontaneous. Someone once described them as visual jazz.

Across The Board has been a labor of love. I've been dreaming of putting it together for some time. This is the first half, (21"x48") ultimately it will be 21"x96" or perhaps even longer. It moves in and out like an accordion made up of six 'v' shaped boards. I worked on each 21"x5" board independently and then enlisted Gemini Moulding in Elgin, https://geminibuildsit.com/ to help mount them together into a 'v'. They also developed a hanging system to hang all six completed 'v's' in a row. Bruce Starrenburg Photography, www.bstarrenburg.com/ did a great job of photographing my art, thank you Bruce! The result is this bold statement that meanders across the wall.
