Famous Personality Born Today: Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata (J R D Tata) (29 July 1904 – 29 November 1993) was an Indian aviator, industrialist, entrepreneur and former Chairman of Tata Group. He is also best known for being the founder of several industries under the Tata Group, including Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Motors, Titan Industries, Tata Salt, Voltas and Air India. In 1983, he was awarded the French Legion of Honour and in 1955 and 1992, he received the Padma Vibhushan and the Bharat Ratna.

????INS Brahmaputra fire leads to wider safety review : In the wake of the fire accident on board the INS Brahmaputra on July 21, navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi has set up a special task force (STF) under Naval Headquarters to review the safety, security and standard operating procedures of the Indian Navy, according to people aware of the matter. According to a statement by the MCD, the sealed coaching centres were found to be operating in basements in violation of rules.
