Did you know, three psychical layers known as the ’Id,’ ‘Ego,’ & 'Superego,’ found beginnings with earlier theoretical titles? The aforementioned stratifications were originally dubbed the ‘It,’ ‘I,’ & ‘Over-I.' Without the contributions of theorists as Anna Freud, Carl Jung, and countless acolytes, psychology today would be a fractal vestige of its present-day glory. Each study, empiricist, and scholar contributed a wealth of knowledge derived from experiential efficacy, testimony, therapeutic analysis, trial-and-error in clinical studies, and word-of-mouth. The discussed paradigm-shifts illustrate ways in which psychology has evolved through tempus fugit.

Sigmund Freud, the founding forefather & ideological crux of psychoanalysis.        

Every school of thought metamorphoses vicariously through its great-thinking precursors. When we explore psychoanalysis, we glean the great pilgrimage Sigmund Freud & Carl Jung tread within themselves. The odyssey only refined them, augmenting their living contribution to this vast field.

Psychoanalysis grew out of Zurich, Switzerland before pervading the globe. Individuals who encountered Sigmund Freud hailed his genius and innovative, psychical approach. Although many were convinced of the substantive logic behind Freudian psychoanalysis, some were acolytes to the point of hubris. Others witnessed erratic behavior that tarnished their perception of Freud’s ethical viability.
