Acquire knowledge in a fast way
We are all very busy in our daily business life. Some of the people believe that they don't need to read since they acquire their professional experiences through work or networking. I prefer to have a combination. However time is always our biggest enemy. Everyone is joggling with so many things at the same time, trying to make the day as efficient as possible.
I am often on the road because my work and always thinking how to optimize my time when I am traveling with the plane or the car. I subscribe some pod casts but always feel that there's something missing until I came across this great service: Blinkist. A service which summarizes the essence of books and make them more "digestible".
I was suspicious but since there's a trail version, so I gave it a try. There are a few points that make me stick to it:
- The coverage of the titles is quite interesting... they did summary of some "non pop science" books. like books from Richard Dawkins and Jared Dimond (my favorite: "Guns, Germs and Steel")
- For many titles, they have texts and readings. For me it's a very interesting feature to improve my German understanding with broader variety of subjects.
- It's fast to get to a general understanding of some subjects, such as Elon Musk's life.
- There are also books regarding leadership, digital marketing and so on, which I benefit from for my work.
For the busy business circle and entrepreneurs, I think this trick might make a part of your life easier but richer.
