Acosta retakes the Moto2 championship lead and shows off his Jarama GP Edition on the podium at Jerez
This?Spanish Grand Prix?was very special for MT Helmets and Pedro Acosta. Besides being one of the home events, on Saturday?the MT Rider unveiled an iconic design?that dazzled the crowd in?Jerez. The KRE+ that Acosta ended up taking to the podium is a tribute to the popular MT Jarama, a model that made full-face helmets accessible to tens of thousands of motorcyclists during the 80s and 90s.
Wearing the?KRE+ Jarama GP Edition, the Spaniard had a great weekend, finishing in a solid second position. This marked Acosta's third podium finish, and makes him once again the leader of the category, tied with Italy's Tony Arbolino at 74 points each.
Another MT Rider leading the pack among Moto2 rookies is?Sergio Garcia. He narrowly missed the top 10, securing four points with an 11th place finish. Despite his forearm problems in the first races, last year's Moto3 runner-up has emerged as a strong contender for Rookie of the Year.
KRE+?Jarama GP Edition?
With this tribute, Pedro wanted to do his bit in the history of MT Helmets.?The KRE+ Jarama GP Edition is a modern reinterpretation of a helmet design that?marked an era?for the brand. The classic Jarama played a fundamental role in?the evolution of motorcycling safety?in Spain at the end of the century, as it led to the widespread use of full-face helmets.
Moto3 // Moreira saves a tricky grand prix
Diogo Moreira?experienced a challenging weekend. For the first time this year, the Brazilian had to go through Q1 and couldn't demonstrate his one-lap potential in Q2. Even though he started from the fourth row on the grid, the MT Helmets-MSi rider maintained his composure and finished the race in tenth place. He is now just 4 points away from the championship lead.
Syarifuddin Azman, his teammate, also faced difficulties. Starting from the back of the grid and having to complete a long lap penalty during the race, he still managed to climb several positions and ultimately finished in 21st place.
Next stop: French Grand Prix at Le Mans?
Jerez was the first round of a European tour that will last until the end of September. The next stop for the MT Riders will be another of the championship's iconic tracks:?Le Mans, which will host the?French Grand Prix?on the weekend of the May 15th.

?To stand on the podium in Jerez with such an important helmet was very emotional. It has been a really special weekend for me. I promised the Tomás family that I would put the KRE+ Jarama GP Edition on the podium, and I did. I would have liked to fight for the victory but Lowes was unreachable today. And above all, I would like to thank all the fans for their love!
