ACMP? and ICF Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Foster Collaboration Between Coaches and Change Managers

The Association of Change Management Professionals? (ACMP?) and the International Coaching Federation (ICF) are pleased to announce the signing of a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance collaboration between the coaching and change management professions. The agreement solidifies a shared commitment to fostering mutual growth, sharing knowledge, and driving excellence in their respective fields.

The MOU outlines a joint effort between ICF and ACMP to collaborate on initiatives that expand the understanding and integration of coaching and change management principles. Both organizations will work together to share research, develop educational resources, and create opportunities that benefit their members and the broader professional communities.

Magdalena Nowicka Mook, CEO of the International Coaching Federation, stated, “Change management initiatives are so common in today’s environment. Coaching can enhance the chance of their lasting success. Conversely, when coaches are familiar with the change process, they can be so much more impactful and supportive of the team in charge. It is no coincidence that ACMP and ICF join forces to serve our stakeholders in a more wholistic and comprehensive way. We are thrilled by our organizations working closer together.”

Deshini Newman, CEO of the Association of Change Management Professionals, expressed her delight at formalizing the relationship, emphasizing the value of cross-disciplinary collaboration. “One of the greatest challenges in the world of work is the fast rate of change. Working together, change managers and coaches can prepare the workforce to be change ready. The collaboration with ACMP Global and ICF is a natural alignment of our service to our membership.”

The MOU between ICF and ACMP highlights a shared vision for humanity to flourish, with coaches and change managers making a meaningful impact on society. The collaboration will focus on initiatives like joint research projects, educational programs, and service activities that advance the professions and create long-lasting value for stakeholders.

The agreement, effective for three years, marks an important step in integrating the disciplines of coaching and change management, helping professionals in both fields contribute more effectively to the evolving needs of organizations worldwide.

This partnership holds great promise, not only for professional growth but also for expanding the value both associations bring to their members. One idea to enhance member benefits could be to offer a cross-membership discount. For example, a 10% discount on ACMP membership fees for ICF members, and vice versa, could encourage more professionals to engage deeply with both organizations.
