Stay Ahead! Recent Gilead Ruling

The California Appeals Court ruled that companies must defend not only marketed products but also those undeveloped. Gilead, which launched the HIV treatment tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) in 2001, faces lawsuits for not developing a safer alternative, tenofovir alafenamide fumarate (TAF), sooner. Plaintiffs argue Gilead delayed TAF to protect TDF profits. This legal stance may impact the development of new therapies.
