Achieving Your Networking Goals by focusing on Mastering the Skills First

[Prologue:?You don't have to tell me, I already know. You hate networking. The way it is used and perceived, I'm not surprised! I myself hate the?word?networking...crazy right? It's description is so restrictive, so inaccurate as the word used for such an expansive and powerful skill set.?Showing professionals how to strategically view it, master the skill and actually look forward to it is what I do. Keep reading for some more inspiration, events and wisdom.]

Knowing how to create professional connections is a necessity for success. No, it's not just making friends. You are here for business and as a skill, it can be mastered effectively. I view this skill as a landscape that covers four different potential goals and four different ways of achieving those goals.? They all blend together to create this great success that can be found in harmony and balance with your business marketing and sales strategies. But, people don't see that when they hear networking.

Are you a part of a repetitive referral networking system? Good, they're useful.? But that's one part of one landscape out of four. What are you doing to navigate and find value in the other ones?? Are you an active member of a local Chamber of Commerce? Excellent, Chambers of Commerce are very valuable, but again, that's one type of one landscape out of four.?

How are you participating in these other skill sets to find the best success for you and your business? I'm here to help you view these skills and how they apply to each other for consistency in your life, in your business and in your connections. It's not random and it's not luck, it is strategy and something as simple as knowing how to have a conversation can bring great success.?

One of my favorite landscapes is what I call the “fishing landscape”. That is where you meet your mentors who are going to make you a better professional tomorrow, than you are today. That is not necessarily covered in structured referral systems or chambers. Did you know that collaboration is actually a form of networking?? In fact, it is a great form of networking.?

Does any of this catch your attention? Have you suddenly thought, “Oh my gosh, I could be accomplishing so much more by just raising my awareness and creating some tweaks to things that I'm already doing every single day”. You need to talk to me.?

I am here for your success and I am here to show you that this skill is broad and expansive and not overwhelming. Once you see it, you have control of it, and that makes you a better professional for yourself, for your clients, for you. The baseline skills necessary for true professional success can be yours.
