Achieving Your Goals Through 'Living As If'

Helloooo!
It's an absolutely beautiful sunny day here in Aberdeen! Clear skies, perfect temperature and the lush greens and flowers are beginning to poke through more and more every day, it's starting to feel like Spring and Summer are maybe having a wee merge.
As the weather begins to change and more people head outdoors for their activities, alongside all the journal work I've been doing lately, I've been reflecting on goals and goalsetting this week. A few people have remarked on my creative ventures lately and wondered if I have laid down my career in fitness, nutrition and wellbeing - which makes sense, given I've not talked about it much lately.
But really, it's given my a chance to take an interlude and roll some of the other parts of my creative wellbeing and personality into my business. Sometimes, I just need a little space to enjoy and reflect on my own fitness journey and what is going on. Just like the 2 week break from having social media on my phone, it gives me a chance to see how distracted and diverted I can get from my path when I am consuming more than I'm creating; or creating with the intention of getting a particular message out instead of going with the flow.
Today I went for a run in the sun along the beach front, this time, with a downhill and less twisty begin to the run; I also decided mid way through that I'd neither stop early, nor do 5KM, which I've fallen into the pattern of doing, but I would take my desired finish time for my 5KM an stop then.
It gave me a different outlook AND I saw that I've dropped another potential minute from my time. Not bad going given my running hasn't been up from and centre.
Why am I telling you this?
By the time we hit April/May, a lot of people have given up on their New Years Resolutions, have fallen into a steady, but maybe frustrating flow, or are considering new goals. What I find, even with myself, is that you can get so wound up in what you think you have to do to achieve your goals, you get stuck in a form of inertia where you're moving, but nothing is really happening.
A change in perspective, approach and focus could give you the kickstart you need.
One of the ways to do this can be to 'live as if', do something that brings you as close to your goal as is possible for you and see how it fits.
For me, today this was running for the desired time in a relaxed way.
Earlier in the week, it wasn't quitting on the yoga session I was working through because it had a headstand and I haven't quite mastered them; so I did it by a wall and did the best I could instead of saying no I can't.
Later in the week, it's returning to paddleboarding and later in the month returning to surfing.
I don't feel confident enough yet to do them outside class, or have a squad to do it with, so I'm laying the foundations instead of living in a state of preparing to live my dream life.
That also means investing in therapy, enquiring about extra support instead of complaining I lack time, energy, guidance; viewing the house; costing the dream; writing the workout, nutrition and supplement plan to support my goals.
Action with intention and meaning, showing myself that I believe in me and my direction.
How could you begin living as if and moving in the direction of your goals with intention and self love?

What limitations need examining?
What support and resources do you need to help you to move forward?
How can you recognise how much of your dream life is already a part of your existance? What do you value and enjoy now?
Next week I will be sharing with you some new mini intensive courses I will be running before nursery breaks up for summer. As I prepare to launch my evergreen coaching course Body: Reconnect + Rise in the Autumn, I thought it would be extra cool to create the supportive materials and courses before summer breaks.
Flexible exercise planning, flexible nutrition planning, exercise fundementals and I may also do journalling, breathwork and grounding and moon movements (exercise classes to suit the stages of the moon, or your menstrual cycle).
Exciting times!
If any of these speak to you and you want to know more before I share the details, or you'd like to enquire about 1-2-1 coaching opportunities, pop me an email by replying to this one, or emailing [email protected]
In the meantime, remember I have some cool resources over at ?Gumroad? (I love that so many people have signed up in the last week to ?Nourishment? !) and subscribe to my ?YouTube? which is growing with videos and about to gain a tonne more in the next couple months.
Time for me to have a quick dip in the pool before picking up Ruby Roo.
That's all for now folks,
Have a fabulous week,
Amanda Jayne
