????????As per the UN SDG 2018 Report:

????????2.3 Billion People live in Water Stressed countries.

????????1975 till 2015 wetlands reduced by 35%.

????????1975 to 2015 Forest loss was 1/3rd of wetland loss, and hence the conditions are very serious, so we need to conserve forests as well as wetlands

????????As per UN SDG 2020 Report:

????????1/4th to ? in fact, 50% population lack the pure drinking water and sanitation facilities.

????????2 Billion lack safe drinking water,

????????3.6 Billion lack basic sanitation facilities and

????????2.3 Billion lack basic hygiene.

????????As per the UN SDG Report 2021:

????????These facilities can help faster Pandemic Recovery but still 129 courtiers don’t have Sustainable Water Supply so the BEST SOLUTIONS could be the alternate sources like desalination of sea water or some other sustainable means are need of the hour.

????????Also, Momentum was lost in the Pandemic now triple efforts would be needed to bring back the momentum again to bring at par with 2018-19.

?

SDG6 Targets and Indicators:

????????Target 6.1: Achieving Universal and Affordable drinking water for all by 2030 was the target but above figures those we discussed needs course corrections

????????Indicator 6.1.1: Proportion of people getting safe drinking water.

????????What a nadir state, humans don’t have pure drinking water?

????????Humans need to correct themselves before it’s too late.

????????Target 6.2: Everyone including people living in vulnerable situations should have sanitation facilities by 2030 without any gender bias

????????Indicator 6.2.1: Proportion of people using safe sanitation facilities including safe soap handwash.

????????Target 6.3: Has many points to be achieved by 2030 and it needs course correction due to pandemic:

????????Reducing Pollution to improve water quality

????????Zero dumping near the water resources

????????Zero dumping of hazardous waste and harmful chemicals anywhere

????????Proportion of waster water treatment will be increased by 50%

????????Increasing recycling facilities

????????Globally, Increasing safe use of water facilities

????????Indicator 6.3.1:

????????Proportion of industrial or domestic water treated safely

????????Indicator 6.3.2:

????????Proportion of water bodies with clean water quality.

????????Target 6.4: It has several points:

????????Increasing efficiency of using water in all the sectors,

????????Ensuring substantial water supply,

????????Ensuring water withdrawal sustainability,

????????Addressing water scarcity,

????????Reducing Percentage of people who suffer from water scarcity

????????Indicator 6.4.1:

????????Change in water efficiency in particular time period

????????Indicator 6.4.2: Level of water stress =?(Fresh Water Withdrawal) / (Water Resources available)

????????Target 6.5: Integrated Water Management, may it be by international cooperation if needed

????????Indicator 6.5.1: Degree of integrated water resources management implemented on the scale of 0 to 100.

????????Indicator 6.5.2: Proportion of international water management basin area with operational arrangement of cooperation

????????Target 6.6: Protecting and Restoring water ecosystems, including mountains, rivers, wetlands, forests, lakes and aquifers. In fact, during Pandemic some part or portions of all these places might have recovered due to little to no human interventions.

????????Indicator 6.6.1: Change in the water related ecosystems over particular period of time

????????Target 6.a: It’s a huge target and might be one of the worst affected too due to pandemic, as it has several pointers:

????????Expand international cooperation and international support to developing countries in:

????????Water and Sanitation related activities and programme those includes:

????????Water Harvesting

????????Desalination

????????Water Efficiency

????????Waste water treatment

????????Recycling Technologies and

????????Reuse Technologies

????????Indicators 6.a.1: Amount Government officially spent on water and sanitation development

????????Target 6.b: Supporting and strengthening the cooperation, participation of local communities in water and sanitation planning and implementation and management activities

????????Indicator 6.b.1: Proportion of the operational policies that have clear indicators of participation of local communities in water and sanitation management

????????Let’s avoid this situation: Cape town, South Africa has sever water crisis: Such a situation that water became scarce and rationing of water was forced… you may refer this UN water website article: https://www.unwater.org/country/africa/south-africa/ ?

????????11 cities those could run out of water, a BBC article: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-42982959 ?

????????Surprisingly, Bangalore which had 250+ big “water” lakes were there, is also part of this list.?

????????I don’t understand are human parasites over the Mother Earth or what? Why are we looting Mother Earth and forcing us in to Environmental catastrophe?

????????“There are still full 8 years left apart from 2022, so, we still can Achieve SDG as we have technology, resources and skilled humans, we just need willingness to achieve!”

????????As I said many times in the past, I am reiterating again, “It’s better we learn fast otherwise, All Dinosaur fossils will have All human fossils as forever companion”.
