Achieving ISO 27001 - Information Security Management System - Certification - to assist businesses with their cybersecurity journeys.

Achievement:

Working along with Cybertechpro Pty Ltd for the last 12 months we have now been able to achieve our ISO 27001 - Information Security Management System - Certification.

Why?

What does this mean for both Cybertechpro Pty Ltd, our customers, and those businesses, Government Agencies or NFPs? It means that we can offer ourselves and any type of organisation a pathway to better cybersecurity practices, and management, along with ongoing compliance.

All of you will continue to be asked about your cybersecurity practices. This will come to you with your business insurance where the insurance companies will continue to ask more in-depth questions about where your business is at with cybersecurity practices and ongoing management/compliance. If you don't answer these questions then you may find your premiums will escalate dramatically or this type of insurance will be unobtainable. You will also be asked when preparing for contracts that you are wanting to win about proof of your cybersecurity practices. Again if not in place then winning may also be unobtainable.

Cybersecurity is an expense that you must budget for and maintain because the risks will continue to increase.

Let's have a quick overview of what is happening out there:

We all know about the Optus and Medibank data breaches and the damage both being done and already done.

Here are some facts from The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC), which is within the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). This organisation shows the Australian Government’s commitment and determination to play an active part in mitigating risks with cyber security across the country for all of us.

As we all know things have not been improving but are getting worse. In the 2021–22 financial year, the deterioration of the global threat environment was reflected in cyberspace.

  • This was most prominent in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, where destructive malware resulted in significant damage in Ukraine itself, but also caused collateral damage to European networks and increased the risk to networks?worldwide.
  • In Australia, we also saw an increase in the number and sophistication of cyber threats, making crimes like extortion, espionage, and fraud easier to replicate at a grander scale.
  • The ACSC received over 76,000 cybercrime reports, an increase of nearly 13% from the previous financial year. This equates to 1 report every 7 minutes, compared to every 8 minutes last financial year

We can assist you with having your cybersecurity profile in place along with its ongoing continuous improvement and management.
