Achievement: being well in our celebrations!

Achievement: being well in our celebrations!

It’s a pretty big milestone today!?

ALL coaching sessions are COMPLETE!!!? This is a very important stage of this work. And time for a moment of celebration. Just like in coaching, when a powerful insight is reached, we take time to "drink it in"!

All in all, 325 coaching sessions and, including pre-programme surveys, a total of 718 responses are complete.? As the study is longitudinal, there are also surveys at three and six months post coaching.? Even most of those are complete, though 60 are still planned for the next few months.? Such an incredible volume of data to analyse!

When I sat down to write this update, I had a “freeze” moment, where I wondered what else there was to say.? It sparked me to reflect on the enablers for this research, some of which are intrinsic, and some, whilst external opportunities appeared, I tapped into my inner values to seek and sign up to them.?

What I also noticed, was how intertwined my own (and our general human) resilience and wellbeing needs/support mechanics are peppered within the journey I've made (and am still enjoying!) to get here.

Agency and Choice – I got into coaching after making an active choice to take control of my career direction, and leave a path I didn’t want any more

Curiosity and open to new ideas – once inside the coaching sphere, my curiosity to know more led me to take part in research led by Dr Tünde Erd?s, MSc Executive Coach and Supervisor ICF MCC, ICF Impact Award .

Rest – a freak accident (a car knocked me off my bicycle) forced my to rest, and during that time, I read The Coaching Science Practitioners Handbook.

Opportunistic – having read the above, I responded to the invite to propose a research project.

Commitment – after several ideas, the “right” one came along, and here I am, still with it, three years later.? And oh yes, there were times at the start where I certainly wanted a hole to swallow me up and never see it again.

Personally, I think the coaching process supports all of the above, though the research will shine a more definied light on where exactly it has impact.

Given this all started from taking part in research, and lots of opportunities to do more cross my path, here are some I heard about over the last couple of weeks, that are seeking participants (a mix of requests for a variety of people), which might inspire you…
