Achieved: intacs? Principal Assessor

Another milestone achieved: Today I’m happy to announce that I got certified as intacs? Principal Assessor.

It is already some years ago when I started with Automotive SPICE. It was in 2011 when I received my very first intacs? Provisional Assessor license card. Maybe a good time to reflect the path behind me.

Reflecting the past years, a lot of things have changed in the automotive industry. The number of electronic components has drastically increased. Same as the value of software in each of these cars. The customer expectations have increased, with regards to functionality but even more with regards to product quality.

This development had a strong impact on my personal way of working. How can software become more reliable? And how can projects become more predictable? I was fascinated by the question of how to make better projects. Hence, I spend a lot of time in switching between project- and quality management positions, always in order to learn and to improve from mistakes and best practices.

And yes, this is a lot about finding and implementing better methods, bla bla bla. But beside the technical aspects, better methods or even the avoidance of unnecessary process steps, can also save a lot of money.

Let’s try together: Take a random process and look for the purpose. Now try to evaluate the risk - if the purpose is not fully satisfied. Could you find the commercial risk? Well, best case you get a better understanding for the need of the process, immediately. Maybe the risk is not directly with you but with somebody else. And maybe some ideas how to better meet the purpose. come into your mind.

Whatever it is, reflecting Purpose & Risk remains a chance to increase efficiency.

Well, harmonizing project activities with quality goals as well as with commercial goals became my personal passion.

Recently the newest standard PAM v4.0 was announced. Since 2011, when I started with PAM v2.5, the Automotive SPICE standard has also made an evolution. It has been adopted to better meet the automotive challenges and to enable the next generations of road vehicle.
