TO ACHIEVE THAT WHICH WE ARE YET TO ACHIEVE, WE MUST ATTEMPT WHAT WE HAVE NOT YET ATTEMPTED!
The passage, ‘Peter got…out of the boat’ (Matthew 14:29 NIVUK), remind us that, in order to grow, we must go into new territory and each time we do, we will experience fear which like boats are what gives us our greatest sense of security and only after we have asked ourselves and gotten the right answers to questions about what our boats are, what is keeping us from getting out of them and what we will forfeit by staying in our it that, will be able to boldly step out of it. In other words, to achieve that which we are yet to achieve, we must attempt that which we have not yet attempted. So let the knowledge that: 1) Our boats are things that produce the most fear in us, especially when we think of leaving them behind and stepping out in faith; 2) If we stay too long in them, we will end up wondering what our life might have been if only we had been willing to get out; and 3) Each time we get out of them, we become a little more able to do it the next time; teach you, when next you hear Jesus say, ‘Come,’ to start walking knowing He will never let you drown!FG. www.fgtalks.com
