Achieve More with Less Effort
Self-awareness is powerful, but did you know it can help you get more done with less effort??
Let’s talk about how. One simple way you can make faster traction toward your goals is by paying attention to when you feel your most focused and energized.?
If you’re a morning person like me, and on fire when you first wake up and throughout the morning, this is can be a great time to get your workout in and to focus on your creative and or business ideas and goals. You'll likely notice you accomplish more in less time because of your heightened concentration during these hours.
My energy starts to fade between 2 and 4pm, my least favorite time of day. As this is when I start to get distracted, it's a good time to step away from my work for an hour, maybe go for a walk, run some quick errands, give my brain the break it needs and get my body moving.?
Being aware of the time of day your energy drops enables you to give yourself what you need. Another trick I like to implement is giving myself a fun project to work on during this time of day specifically, to help shift my perspective around it.?
If you’re a night owl, why put pressure on yourself to do what I like to call your hardcore focus work first thing in the morning? Instead, honor and accept yourself by paying attention to how you feel throughout the day and create the day that works for you. Consider doing your most challenging and important task during the time of day when you're most focused.?

What do you do if you have a demanding corporate job that limits your flexibility? First, when you get an idea that excites you or stimulates your curiosity, one that might also further your business goals, but you're rushing to a meeting and don't have time to explore it that moment, write down your idea. Keep your business goals and ideas in one place, like a Word doc, or notebook, or even your notes section in your phone, and designate a time in your calendar to revisit them later. Writing down your ideas helps eliminate the distraction of many to-do's floating around your head, and also creates a responsibility for you to take action toward your goals .
When it comes to accomplishing your required tasks at work, depending on how your energy level corresponds to the time of day, you can choose which task you’re going to work on at which time. For example, if you arrive at work early and you’re not super dialed in first thing in the morning, maybe that’s the time you focus on returning emails, or something that requires a little less focus. And when your energy starts to pick up at 10 or 11am, that’s when you hardcore focus on the important project you know requires more effort.?
When you do what you feel like, you elevate your self-esteem and confidence level because you are honoring, rather than denying, yourself. With an elevated mindset, you minimize distraction, heighten your focus and continue achieving more with less effort, even when it's time to complete those mundane, yet necessary tasks.?
