66 years ago, Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart revolutionized African literature, introducing much of the world to African culture and storytelling. The novel became a classic of world literature and Achebe’s extensive body of work cemented his status as a literary giant. As founding editor of the African Writers Series, Achebe also paved the way for hundreds of African authors. The Achebe family has continued to honor and uphold his legacy of integrity and impact.
Achebe Masterworks, led by co-CEOs Chidi Achebe MD, MPH, MBA and Nwando Achebe, is now opening a new chapter in African storytelling.
Achebe Masterworks will curate and create captivating film, television and digital media projects from Chinua Achebe’s extraordinary oeuvre, and from other powerful storytellers from Africa and the global Black diaspora.
Starting with the screen adaptation of Things Fall Apart and the African Trilogy, Achebe Masterworks will introduce these compelling narratives to new generations of readers and audiences.

1 个月Not sure that I am thrilled by the idea of commercializing "Achebe". It may soon be like Christmas, better known for sales than the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Didn't the Mandelas try to do something like this? What was the result? Chinua Achebe belongs to all of us. His children, much as I respect their prerogative to use their late father's fame as they best see fit, should also recognize our collective claim to Chinua Achebe. Chinua Achebe was ours and remains ours. I support the purpose but I disagree with the name. Give the business venture any name but Achebe...
