Achar Ke Vichar - Aap katar mein hai, pratiksha kijiye!
While riding on the W. E. Highway, when I visited Mumbai many months ago, I saw this billboard with a huge headline that said “Aap Qatar mein hai” followed by the tagline ‘Indigo…flying non-stop to Qatar now’.
What exemplary creative advertising….And it set my mind thinking …
In the late 80s, when one would try calling an STD line (called trunk call), one would hear - ‘Aap katar mein hai, pratiksha kejiye’, when the lines were invariably busy, especially in the nights.
Fast forward to the current era; when you are dialing customer support for your bank, you now hear ‘All our executives are busy, please wait’…if I had chosen Hindi as the language, I would have probably heard something similar to the head line…Aap katar mein hai……..
Point why I felt this was relevant, especially to our customers when they call our call center and our recruiters trying to call the candidates - and get to hear such messages ‘Is route ke sabhi liney vyast hai, thodi der baad call kijiye’ or ‘All lines on this route are busy, please call later’ or ‘Dial kiya hua number maujood nahi hai’ or ‘Yeh number network kshetra ke bahar hai’ or ‘Jis vyakti se Aap sampark karna chahate hai, woh switched-off hai’.
Imagine the frustration, stress, despair customers and recruiters feel when all of the above happens?
How and when do we hear – ‘Is line per sabhi Aap hi ki call ki prateeksha Kar rahe hai’!!!
