Nobody likes a person who speaks as if he is too smart 'for you'; it comes off as offensive and degrading in many ways. Not the best way to win an audience!
Your audience will be won if you make them feel special, not stupid! ?????♂?
As writers and content marketers, we like to play with our words. Sometimes that’s okay, depending on your brand personality and the type of content.
But most of the time, being clear and concise will return greater rewards than being clever. Trust me! Effective copywriting is salesmanship in print, not clever wordsmithing.
The more invisible your selling skill, the more effective you are. Copywriters who show off their skills are as ineffective as fishermen who reveal the hook!

1. Mention personal life failures in your copy - so you come across as human and not a robot programmed to sell.
2. Make your failures relatable. You failing at building a rocket ship will not be relatable. You failing and losing money on your first product campaign will be more relatable, as we've all been through that at some point or another.
3. Don't use big words out of a thesaurus. That just makes you sound silly. The same thing can be said easily and clearer using everyday simple words.
