Accountability = transformation = performance = purpose
Or is that order wrong? or maybe it is a continuous circle? Whatever way you look at it, I have come to the realization that accountability is key. It brings responsibility, enables, empowers, and advances.
In championing inclusion and neurodiversity in bp and out, there are 3 things keeping me, bp and the world accountable;
1. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 8 - SDG 8
“Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all”
I had the pleasure and privilege of listening to a UN all autistic panel discuss the importance and value of SDG 8: World Autism Awareness Day Observance - Inclusion in the Workplace in a Post-Pandemic World - YouTube
2. bp’s Sustainable Frame Aim 13 – Sustainable Livelihoods and Aim 14 Greater Equity. We recently launched these aims which we live by in delivering on our ambition of becoming a #netzero company by 2050 or sooner and our purpose to reimagine energy for people and our planet ??.
3. Our recent commitment to the Valuable 500 ??, putting disability on our bp board agenda. Holding our leadership accountable.
If you don’t have something to stand behind your purpose it is harder to galvanize, get traction and make progress. For what it is worth my advice? Advocate with all your superpowers ?? and use these frames to champion change in your business.
