Lesson #1: Accountability is the Game Changer
Pregame was based in part on my book?Game Plan: Achieve Your Goals in Life, Career, and Business.?
For years, I had been creating plans for clients, mainly in marketing.
Meanwhile, in my personal life, I was always creating a new training?plan for my marathon habit.?
There's nothing like the feeling of finishing a perfect Plan: the confidence of knowing exactly what you'll do when, the specificity of actions and deadlines, and the optimism of fantastic results.
But nothing ruins perfection like reality.?
The truth is that no plan is perfect. The thing that brings a plan to perfection is its manifestation in reality.?
We all know what that's like: starting the New Year off with plans for a new diet, new fitness regimen, new business, new relationship.?
The problem with handing my clients a Game Plan was that their real value is in the execution.?
Fortunately, we realized this quickly and solved it. Pregame now focuses on co-creating a Game Plan and supporting people through the game itself. That happens through?Home Team: small group sessions where we revisit our game plan and get back on track. Individual entrepreneurs and executives join our weekly Home Team, and organizations bring us in monthly or quarterly to lead Home Teams for their team.?
What's your accountability framework??
What?keeps you on track with your plan?
