Accountability breeds response-ability

Accountability breeds response-ability

Paul Graham recently tweeted, “When startups are doing well, their investor updates are short and full of numbers. When they're not, their updates are long and mostly words.”

  • Gross revenues increased 168% from January to March
  • Website visitor to paying member conversion rate increased by 1000%
  • We attained 100,000 unique website visitors for the first time in March

Now for all the words ...

I pride myself on being transparent, open, and honest. Stephen Covey’s axiom “accountability breeds response-ability” is one that I hold near and dear. On February 3rd I published “Your Auto Advocate - January Month in Review”, and within that post I said:

What does February have in store for Your Auto Advocate? Success for our team looks like:

  • Continue to increase gross revenue
  • Continue to improve our product so that we convert members at a higher level
  • Continue to increase the number of website visitors we receive

Now that the first quarter has come to a close we are in a position to hold ourselves accountable. Did Your Auto Advocate increase gross revenues? Did we improve our product and convert more members? Did we increase the number of website visitors?

TLDR: Yes. Yes. And yes.

Your Auto Advocate is rapidly growing

The traditional business model in automotive tech is to sell “auto intenders” as leads to dealerships. At Your Auto Advocate our hypothesis is that “auto intenders” will pay a premium to have a platform that supports them through the car buying experience and doesn’t sell their information.

Back in February we had initial data that indicated our hypothesis might hold true. Today it is undoubtedly clear that we are right; gross revenues increased 168% from January to March — an incredible accomplishment that further validates our hypothesis.

Your Auto Advocate provides an incredible value to its members. Since February 3rd our team has released many new member benefits, with Black Book trade-in valuations, and “click to email” the dealer functionality being community favorites.

Each week we review our conversion metrics to track the impact we have on the business. We measure how many unique website visitors convert to paying members. From January to March we increased this conversion rate by 1000%. Kudos to the entire Your Auto Advocate team for this awesome achievement.

We have also seen growth amongst our unique website visitors. March 2021 was the first month in Your Auto Advocate history with over 100,000 unique visitors. Wow.

What does April have in store for Your Auto Advocate? More of the same.

  • Continue to increase gross revenue
  • Continue to improve our product so that we convert members
  • Continue to increase the number of website visitors we receive

Stay tuned for next month! Accountability breeds response-ability. I’ll be sure to share an update with you then.

Excellent report! Imbalance in the marketplace gives great opportunity for entrepreneurs. And your exponential growth numbers in such a short period show how imbalanced the marketplace truly is.

Congratulations to the entire Team at Your Auto Advocate for an incredible start to 2021. The Team's commitment to advocating on behalf of the customer when it comes to how cars are bought and sold in this country is unparalleled and unwavering. Never in my 43 year automotive career have I been affiliated with a group of people so thoroughly dedicated to a cause, and well, I couldn't be prouder. Lets continue the culture of disrupting the retail automobile business and educating both consumers and dealers on how there really is a better way. We can and we will make a difference!
