ACCORD- Academic Operations Reflection Day

At Third Space Global , we take pride in continually enhancing and sustaining the quality of tutoring we provide to our students and our Academic Operations Department is a testament to that mission. They play a crucial role in maintaining these high standards by mentoring our tutor body and providing top-notch resources and assistance where necessary. Comprising four sub-departments - Training and Development, Coaching and Development, Assessing and Auditing, and Central Academics Division - this dedicated team recently held their termly reflection day, "ACCORD- Academic Operations Reflection Day," on 28th April 2023.

The purpose of this session was to facilitate the whole department coming together in an effort to reflect, assess and evaluate how their efforts have taken shape so far. It was an opportunity to identify tutor performance levels and academic progress, and the impact that over 50 000 tutoring sessions during the course of three months have had on students. The team always strives to bring bigger and better strategies to the table in a continual endeavour to achieve TSG’s vision of providing technology-enabled learning for an innovative and enriching educational experience. As a team that works remotely at times, this was also a chance for everyone to meet in person, making for an all the more efficient and enjoyable time.

Starting with an engaging icebreaker, the Academic Operations Department would go on to discuss the various strategies and projects they had been working on to maintain and improve the tutoring services offered by the company. This included coaching strategies delivered by our Coaching and Development team that prioritised assessing outcomes and identifying areas for improvement to better support our tutors, as well as valuable data on the number of completed audits, teaching demos, and academic interview sessions presented by the Assessing and Auditing team. The Quality Controllers also shared how measures were taken to ensure that our tutors meet TSG's guidelines, to the very best of their ability.

The Training and Development team then took over, giving their input on a successful US pilot project, followed by the Senior Manager - Academic Operations, Jasmiya Jareen , highlighting TSG's 12-month plan of action and the department's commitment to digital transformation and concluding the event. Furthermore, the review presented by the Central Academic Division provided valuable insights into the department's growth and achievements, highlighting areas in which the department had excelled and sharing statistics to inform and inspire the entire team about their progress. This left attendees feeling informed and highly motivated for the next term. Overall, it was truly an inspiring day that showcased the team's dedication and passion for providing high-quality tutoring services to our students.
