AGC Urgent Action Alert - Highway and Bridge Construction Funds

In an ACCNJ Alert distributed on October 17, 2023, we informed members AGC of America issued an?Urgent Action Alert?related to the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA), proposed rule?to force states to spend their federal-aid highway funds, meant for road and bridge construction, to pay for buses, Amtrak trains, and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. ACCNJ asked members to take action and tell the White House and Congress to oppose FHWA’s effort to divert road funding.

Summer Internship Program - Contractor Registration / Career Fair

As a reminder, in Bulletin 69-2023, we invited Active Members to join us for the CIAP Career Fair, scheduled for January 10, 2024. It will be held in-person at Forsgate Country Club, Monroe Twp., New Jersey. For more information, access the bulletin in the members-only section at accnj.org.

Tuition Reimbursement Program

In Bulletin 05-2023, we informed Active Members the ACCNJ Industry Advancement Trust (IAT) has approved the continuation of the Tuition Reimbursement Program for eligible, full-time employees of ACCNJ member firms that contribute to the IAT. The courses selected must be aimed at providing job-related knowledge and skills for construction personnel in either office or field operations. ACCNJ Annual Membership Meeting

In Bulletin 70-2023, we announced ACCNJ's Annual Membership Meeting will be held?TUESDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2023, at a new location for us: the Nassau Inn, Princeton, NJ.?It begins with cocktail hour at 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner and Association business at 6:00 p.m.

At this meeting we will recognize ACCNJ Chair Eric Jensen for his leadership of the Association. The evening’s business will include voting on the 2024 Slate of Officers & Trustees.

Stephen Sandherr Announces Retirement

AGC of America CEO Stephen E. Sandherr announced his retirement as Chief Executive Officer of the Associated General Contractors of America, effective March 31, 2024. Sandherr has been CEO of the Association for the commercial construction industry for 27 years and has served it for 37 years in various capacities. AGC's current Chief Operating Officer, Jeffrey Shoaf will serve as the association’s next CEO.

Blubeam Revu for Beginners

As a reminder, ACCNJ member ZenTek Consultants, a certified Bluebeam Partner, is offering an online course, "Bluebeam Revu for?Beginners" for ACCNJ Active Members.??This program is delivered in four, two-hour online sessions.??A live instructor will explain the detailed functions and address questions as the class progresses. All classes will be held from 8-10am on November 7,8,14, and 15. Reach out to the Association office for more information.
