An Accidental Entrepreneur

There are times in your life that I like to call SHARP CORNERS. Here you are bobbing along in your job and life pretty happy and WHAM you are hit with a sharp corner. A moment that changes your path inside and out. Most grown adults (notice I wrote MOST) know that it is our reaction to these moments that will change our lives for the better or worse. Now knowing this and doing the right thing for ourselves is sometimes the hardest thing to achieve.

I have had 2 major sharp corners in my life and a few wiggly ones. I admire most the people with the 10, 20, 50 sharp corners that can make a sharp corner into a learning experience and make their life better. Since my last sharp corner I have been paying a lot of attention to those that can make their life better from these moments, trying to become better myself. No easy feat.

One common denominator I have come to learn with people like this is their ability to turn a bad situation into something for the greater good. I loved that idea, the fact that it was a majority and the concept that it was achievable. Now I had to put myself to the test to see if I could make MY sharp corner into something better for the greater good. I chose to give back to a charity through a bag I've wanted to design for some time. Until this launched I considered myself on the inside someone who took over the family business... not necessarily an "entrepreneur". Now almost by accident I can look at myself and say I am a true entrepreneur. My name is on the company, I have sold some bags and have given back to charity.

To tell you the truth it wasn't that hard to do. I managed to turn my sharp corner into something for the greater good and in return accidentally became a full blown entrepreneur. My hope now is that others put themselves in the right frame of mind to become an accidental entrepreneur for the greater good. Our next generation needs to see that from sharpness, wiggles can come!
