Accessorizing with Hockey-Dot

This 1998 Forester is the Hockey-Dot local delivery rig. It is used to drop off local orders within the boundaries of the MVI Hockey Association, just outside of St Paul Mn. It isn't much to look at, but it has it where it counts, it runs. Today I added a much-needed accessory, a hockey stick holder. This has been on my mind for a while I have a few prototypes that have all failed but have never nailed it. Then last year a wild turkey held its ground as I gently and jokingly swerved at it. As I hit the brakes, my Bauer Nexus, perched atop the seats, kept going cracking my windshield. Man, my son really enjoyed that. It is the way of ka.

Now that I have thousands of these Hockey-Dot Training Cones I have come up with a bunch of different uses for them, besides selling them. I designed the straps to fit the stock crossbars using Creo 6 then 3d printed them on our Stratasys f370 using the sparse double dense setting. The straps could be made from wood but why do all that work when you could just sit in your chair and listen to early Megadeth tunes and let the printer do its thing.

The Install went great. Everything fit as planned, I just had to eyeball down the front side to make sure my stick was going to be as aerodynamic as possible. I did a test run and got er up to 50mph and that old Nexus didn't budge at all. My next design will need to have an integrated tie down system, just so its safe. It has got to be turkey proof. I plan to post these .stl files on the hockey-dot users group facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/2365328420449285/ ) page since I cannot get my website to host that file type.
