Summary: Conducting UX research for accessibility, and have a fair sampling of participants for this purpose. | #UX Design
When organizations create communications around accessibility, inclusion, and usability they create a universal messaging system that intersects technical communication and marketing. In order to continue creating these universal systems, organizations need to recognize the need to create frameworks and cultures that prioritize content design, resource documentation, and enablement for dominant and non-dominant groups.
The author proposes that the suggestions discussed next are helpful in achieving this. Meet accessibility requirements, simply by website compliance and using alt text. Conduct usability studies to understand new ways to satisfy a wider spectrum of your target audience. For your studies, choose tools that center accessibility in the deliverable. Employ inclusiveness by involving a diverse population in user research, and responsible corporate citizenry or hiring from unconsidered and underrepresented populations. These suggestions make it easier to build effective communication systems that will serve “everyone.”
