Access to Quality Educators

As a young spoken word poet once said, "there are no choices without chances". At empowermefirst we believe in providing access to quality education for everyone, regardless of background, lifestyle, gender identity, culture, faith, citizenship, we believe that education changes lives.

empowermefirst's strengths are our vision, our perseverance and consistency, our global outlook as a movement of volunteers from all walks of life, from every corner of this world. Quality education begins at the core of education - with people who share a vision and a passion for education and life long learning.

To celebrate this, our newsletter series of 2024 is dedicated to our members, in this edition to some of the members of our ICT team.

ICT - Learning Content

Employability, innovation, entrepreneurship start with strong ICT skills. Thus we are focusing on ICT education from ICT literacy, to application such as graphic design, photo and video editing to coding. Let us introduce the team leader of ICT learning content creation, Kejsi Struga.

"My name is Kejsi and I joined empowermefirst in January of 2024.?

Why did I join? The word empower is associated with lifting women up. As a content creator focusing on this very topic, I thought why not hit two birds with a stone. As I learned later on, empowermefirst has a much larger mission: To help youth in need of the most basic human right: education. And with 3 out of 4 dropouts being a woman, my mission would not only be fulfilled, but surpassed.?

What have I learnt? First of all, the power of the internet has become all the more apparent. While I sit in Europe, many of the team members sit in i.e. Africa. And it is astonishing how our dreams, and aspirations are so alike. How our mindsets and respect for each other are so aligned.

Secondly, helping others is what upgrades the soul to a noble level. As a young person the prospect of decades ahead is filled with worries and uncertainties. But one thing I will never regret is extending a helping hand to those whose shoes I’ve been in. Coming from disadvantageous circumstances, where opportunities are scarce, finances are limited and lack of education is rife. I know first hand the perils that lie in these children’s path. And sometimes, the solution is embedded in a word, an example, but most of all a role model. And it is this catalyst I wish for all to discover at some point."

ICT support team

Our ICT Support Team are currently designing our new website, which will help us look more professional.

Umar Sabiu has been one of our first global members. The consistency of his support for empowermefirst has been a wonderful inspiration. From a team member he has become the leader of the ICT team and the support support team.

"As a proud member of empowermefirst college since its inception, I am honored to share my journey with you. My name is Umar Sabiu, and I serve as the Head of IT here.

Part of my role is to make sure we have synergized our skills and passions to create a platform that transcends geographical barriers, bringing learning directly to the fingertips of those who need it most.

Through our endeavors, we have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of education. We've empowered students to dream big, equipped them with the tools to succeed, and instilled in them the belief that no goal is beyond reach.

As I reflect on our journey thus far, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to be part of something truly meaningful. Every line of code, every late-night troubleshooting session, and every moment of triumph is a testament to the resilience and spirit of Africa."

Fanni G?rf?l has shown her strength in the clarity and beauty of the design of our new website which we hope to launch soon. Stay tuned!

"Hello! I am Fanni, and I come from Hungary. These days, I am living in Switzerland, in a little village called Igis.

I studied Physics and Biophysics at university. I enjoy mathematical and logical tasks, and I find pleasure in solving them. I became acquainted with software development during my university studies and fell in love with it. Last year, I completed a Java Bootcamp and delved into web development.

I am passionate about the concept, idea, and creativity involved in creating websites. This passion drove me to collaborate with empowermefirstcollege and create a new, captivating website for them. It provides me with valuable work experience, and it's rewarding to contribute in some way to their nobel work. In my free time, I love playing board games with my friends, going for a walk with my lovely dog, listening to interesting podcasts, learning german or going for a trip in the Swiss Alps. I hope to make a significant impact on empowermefirst's work."

Rinor Pa?arizi has impressed us with the clarity of his conceptional approaches.

"Hi! I'm Rinor, hailing from Kosovo. I'm a Computer Science and Engineering student. I honed my skills as a Java developer at WeAreTechnology for over 2 years now, at the same time, i've explored various programming full stacks, enriching my web development expertise. Witnessing the mission of the empowermefirstcollege drove me towards assisting them to create a new, captivating website together. When not coding, I immerse myself in anime and video games, finding joy and relaxation in their worlds.

Beyond screens, I relish exploration and sports adventures. Whether scaling mountains or playing a couple of sports matches, i'll be fuelled by curiosity. Eager to merge my tech prowess with my passions, I try to innovate and create. Excited for the journey ahead, I aspire to make a meaningful impact in every endeavor."
