Acceptance & Joy in The Face of Challenges

Maybe there's something in the air, but I keep hearing about and reading about acceptance and joy.
I'm re-reading Messages From the Masters by Brian Weiss. (Author of my favorite book, Many Lives, Many Masters). In one passage he writes:
"Money is neutral, neither good nor bad. ... Money and security are not the same thing. Security can only come from within. It is a spiritual trait, not an earthly one. Money is of the earth. You cannot take it with you when you leave. ... Security derives from inner peace and a knowledge of our true essence, which is spirit."
This got me thinking about the concepts of Neutral Thinking, Equanimity, and the Middle Way, which are all very similar.
It's not about the past or the future, or seeing things as good or bad. It's not about extremes. For example, if you are run over by your emotions, or you bury them, both are extremes. In another example, you're so focused on the physical that you forget the spirit. Or, you're so focused on the spirit, that you're disconnected from the physical.
As George Mumford likes to say, "What you give your attention to grows. What you resist persists."
There is always a balance and harmony at work. Wins and losses. Times of ease and times of challenge. It's balanced.?
The overarching theme here is acceptance.
Acceptance isn't just about coping; it’s a pathway to greater joy. By letting go of resistance to life's ups and downs, we create space for genuine happiness to flourish.
The link between acceptance and joy:
Appreciating the present moment: When we accept what is, we open ourselves to the beauty and richness of the present moment. This awareness can spark joy in even the simplest things. It can also help you save energy because you're not spending energy worrying about the things you can't control.?
