Our final article of the day focuses on, Lise Miller , who is an insight manager based in Chicago.

Q. If you could impart wisdom to your younger self, armed with the knowledge you possess today, what guidance would you offer??

There are three lessons I would give my younger self:

1. be confident;
2. live in the moment; and
3. It's never too late to make a change.??

Being confident isn't always easy, but when you trust yourself and the choices you make, you'll inevitably feel proud of the impact you have on the world.

Embracing the present helps maintain a positive mindset and keeps you from getting lost in the 'what ifs'. I'm lucky to love what I do, but remember, it's never too late to switch gears. Seek out what ignites your passion, drives you, and ultimately brings you joy.?

Q. What has been the biggest achievement in your career so far??

Relocating to the US at the age of 26 and playing a pivotal role in building and nurturing the North America analyst team. It was a considerable challenge, but immensely rewarding.

The opportunity to recruit, train, and support such a talented team of analysts has not only been a professional milestone but also a personal one. Their talent and dedication make every day exciting and fulfilling.?

Q. What has been the biggest challenge of being a female in business? How did you overcome it??

The biggest challenge I've faced as a woman in business has been those moments when I realize I'm the only female in meetings. It can be quite intimidating and overwhelming.

But I've learned to remind myself that I'm there for a reason. I bring value to the table, minority or not, and I've earned my spot. Embracing this mindset has been crucial.

To navigate these challenges, I found it helpful to seek mentorship from senior female leaders, especially those in STEM. If there isn't someone available within my company, I look outside. The female STEM community is incredibly supportive, and they've been a fantastic network to rely on. This approach has not only helped me to overcome these challenges but has also been a source of inspiration and strength.??
