Our momentum keeps building on our path to an all-electric future. The opportunity is so great – for our people, our partners and our communities. That’s why today, we announced that General Motors will increase its electric and autonomous vehicle investments from 2020 through 2025 to $35 billion – up from $20 billion announced before the pandemic. 

GM is also announcing two new Ultium battery cell plants in the U.S., in addition to our plants that are already under construction in Ohio and Tennessee. We will add North American manufacturing capacity so we can expand and accelerate the rollout of EVs for retail and fleet customers. And we are announcing new commercial partnerships for our U.S.-made Ultium batteries and Hydrotec fuel cells, further demonstrating the revenue potential of these amazing technologies. 

We are making these investments so we can move faster and grow in ways that deliver value to our shareholders and our stakeholders. And while this reimagination of our business won’t happen overnight, we are working towards it every day – as one company, driven by our growth strategy.  

Customers are excited about the GMC Hummer EV pickup truck and SUV, the Cadillac LYRIQ and the Chevrolet Silverado electric pickup. Our EVerybodyIn campaign is our call to action for everyone to play an active role in the adoption of electric vehicles. We’re also innovating with our dealers to support the EV customer experience. Public and private investment in EV charging infrastructure and the global policy environment are helping to accelerate EV interest and readiness.
