Accelerating the energy transition with more green ??

Hello everyone! We're back for another week to bring you up-to-speed with the latest Iberdrola news and developments across our sector ??.

We presented our financial results for the first quarter of 2024 breaking the Q1 record for investments (€2.38 billion) ??, focused on grids (51%) and renewables (42%). The majority of our renewables investments were dedicated to offshore wind. Supported by our investments in recent years, we reported a net profit of €2.76 billion at the end of March 2024 ??.

These figures show the strength of our model ?, with the right balance between geographies and businesses to help drive decarbonization and the electrification of the economy, with the best talent to support growth and stability ?.

We have also released our energy production data for the first quarter, which shows just how focused on clean energy we are! We generated 100% emission-free energy in the United Kingdom, Brazil, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Romania and Bulgaria.

Iberdrola Family Day arrives in Bilbao

This week we will hold our General Shareholders' Meeting in Bilbao, an event that can be followed in person or online. It also has a sustainable ?? event certificate? ?- because it is in our DNA! ?

Renewables around the world: offshore wind ??

Our pioneering commitment to offshore wind continues to go from strength to strength, with major advances in our wind farms in France, the USA, Germany and the UK. At the same time, we are advancing on potential new projects in Japan, the USA and Australia.

We have recently received very good news about these new projects:

• ·?????? In Australia, the Hon Chris Bowen MP, Minister for Climate Change and Energy, announced a preliminary intention to award Iberdrola Australia an offshore feasibility license for the Aurora Green site off the coast of Gippsland, Victoria. The proposed license area can host up to 3GW of offshore capacity.

• In Japan, we are part of a consortium awarded the development of a new 375 MW offshore project, which could begin construction in 2026.

Over in the United Kingdom, last week saw a major milestone for our East Anglia THREE offshore windfarm, as the offshore converter station took to the water for the first time ????

The seven-storey structure will now sail to Aker Solutions’ yard in Stord, Norway, where HVDC equipment will be installed and commissioned.
