Founded in 1974 in response to the oil crisis, the IEA has evolved into a central player in shaping energy policy and fostering international cooperation. From its origins in ensuring oil supply security, the IEA's mandate has expanded to encompass the full spectrum of energy sources and challenges, including renewables, efficiency, and climate change mitigation. As the world commemorates the IEA's five-decade journey, it is an opportune moment to reflect on past achievements and recalibrate strategies to tackle contemporary energy and climate imperatives.

Responsible Investment for Clean Energy Transition: Hosted by Australia, this dialogue underscores the pivotal role of responsible investment in accelerating the global transition towards a secure, sustainable, and inclusive energy system. 4. Building a Prosperous & Inclusive Economy for the Future: Canada hosts a dialogue cantered on forging a prosperous and inclusive new energy economy. Discussions will focus on clean energy employment opportunities, skills training, social inclusion, and economic empowerment, with a particular emphasis on marginalized groups such as women and Indigenous communities.
5. IEA Energy Innovation Forum 2024: As part of the IEA's 50th Anniversary celebrations, the Energy Innovation Forum will explore the challenges and opportunities facing innovative energy technologies. From emerging markets to emissions abatement in industrial sectors, the forum aims to identify priority actions for fostering innovation, investment, and policy ambition in the journey towards net-zero emissions.

Climate Hub Forum: Against the backdrop of these critical discussions, our newly established Climate Hub Forum emerges as a platform of collaboration and knowledge exchange in the realm of sustainable development and climate action. The Climate Hub Forum serves as a nexus for policymakers, industry leaders, Research institutes and civil society to exchange insights, best practices, and innovative solutions towards achieving our shared climate objectives. Through thought-provoking Networking events, discussion sessions, Innovative solutions, Research publications, and collaborative initiatives, the Forum aims to catalyse transformative change and advance the implementation of the Paris Agreement.
