Accelerate Your PMP Prep with Exercise

Studying for PMP takes months and can be grueling. With most of us already working long hours, the thought of spending additional hours at our desk can make us cringe. And thankfully, passively letting your body transition from PMP study into work, or the other way around, is not the best for your body or your brain.

If you are preparing for your PMP and do not have a physical exercise routine, please get one. If you already have one, great, stay with it.

  1. Exercise for at least 20-30 mins a day. Do whatever type of exercise works for you. As long as your body is moving, your heart is pumping, and you are getting a good quantity of blood rushing to your brain, you're on the right track. Exercise boosts your alertness and ensures you make the most of your study time.?
  2. Exercise also releases endorphins, which increase your feeling of well-being and reduce your feeling of stress making it easier to concentrate and absorb all the information before you.
  3. Not surprisingly, research also found that exercise increases the size of the hippocampus, the region in the brain associated with memory and learning in adults.
  4. Exercise is also recognized to relieve stress and clear your mind, making it easier to concentrate and study.

However, here’s a word of caution. Don't exercise so much that you are left feeling tired and exhausted. Instead, start small and slowly increase your exercise timing as your body adjusts to the movement. Do just enough to leave you invigorated.???

So you have exercised, showered, and now… it's time to turn your attention to getting your PMP!
