Your resume can be an effective way to speed up your job search.

Think of all the resumes you sent and jobs you applied to where you were qualified ... yet failed to land you an interview.

Most of the time, when you failed to get interviews but were qualified, it had nothing to do with you or your qualifications - Your resume that failed you.

Here are two ways your resume can score more interviews and accelerate your job search:

1. More And Better Resume Customization:?Job seekers spend an average 15 minutes on average customizing their resume. That's just not enough to get through resume databases and prescreening very often. I recommend that my subscribers and clients spend an average of 1 hour customizing each resume to land more interviews. That's time spent customizing just your resume, not your cover letter. Sure, you'll send fewer resumes, but you'll get more interviews (that's what you want, right?).
2. Improve Your First Impression:?Most resumes give readers a confusing first impression and readers make their first decision in just 6 seconds (to stay on your resume or move to the next). To pass this test, your resume needs to be crystal clear to your reader, portray you as a superior candidate (even when you're average) and able to be absorbed as an internalized, gut-feel, first impression in just a few seconds. That's your "brain dump" of 50 different things doesn't make a first impression that attracts employers. Most resumes, including yours, fail this test ... one of the reasons your resume is rejected when you're qualified.
