#ChamberStrong Initiatives

  • The?Association of Washington Business?launched its sixth-annual?Manufacturing Week bus tour?to shine a spotlight on Washington’s makers, highlight the importance of manufacturing to the state’s economic recovery and call attention to ways policy makers and others can support manufacturers.
  • The?Dallas Regional Chamber?launched a?voter engagement toolkit?businesses can use to to inform their employees about the upcoming election. The chamber believes the business community has an essential role to play in advocating for increased civic engagement and pro-growth public policies that help maintain a high quality of life for all who live in the region.
  • To make sure Georgia has a smooth and secure election in November, the?Metro Atlanta Chamber?launched a recruiting effort to attract tech-savvy poll workers. The chamber created a?recruiting website?and asked businesses to encourage employees to become a poll worker.
  • North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce?secured state funding to?foster partnerships between local employers and education providers?to expand access to career training and grow the region’s skilled workforce. The $150,000 in state funding matches funds raised by the chamber’s education compact to create a new manager of talent and education initiatives position at the chamber.
  • The?Owensboro Chamber’s?Educators in the Workplace provides opportunities for?educators to tour local facilities?and speak with businesses about operations and expectations of employees.
  • The?Antioch Chamber of Commerce?partnered with the city’s mayor and two local businesses to launch the?Small Business Investment Center (SBIC). The goal of the three-year pilot program is to support 100 Antioch or Contra Costa residents who are pursuing business ownership. The SBIC prioritizes businesses that are launched by marginalized communities, including women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community and veterans.
  • The?Minnesota Chamber of Commerce?is partnering with Minnetonka-based insurer Medica to offer?health insurance plans for small- and mid-sized businesses. Known as ChamberHealth by Medica, the offering is available to chamber members only, and it’s limited to companies in select industries: manufacturing, finance and insurance and professional, scientific and technical services.
  • The?Angola Area Chamber of Commerce?hosted an event focused on?mental health in the workplace. The featured speaker encouraged employers to reduce the stigma of mental health through holding events that bring awareness to the issue and talking about their own struggles, such as anxiety.
  • The?St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce?will launch a?downtown advisory board?to provide stability and focus on downtown issues after the St. Cloud Downton Council disbanded.
  • The?Mississippi Economic Council?was named?State Chamber of the Year for 2022?by the National Association of State Chambers for providing exceptional services and outstanding results for its members.
