  • The Ontario Chamber?supports provincial government efforts to increase?access to affordable housing. “We welcome many of the measures proposed in the bill introduced yesterday, several of which we have long advocated for, including reducing red tape and streamlining development approval processes, increasing gentle densification and incentivizing inclusionary zoning and affordable housing development,” chamber President & CEO Rocco Rossi said.
  • The?Dayton Area Chamber?and the City of Dayton have?joined the Rally for Air Service coalition?to address the national pilot shortage and its effects on small community air service. According to the coalition, 72 percent of U.S. airports offer fewer flights now than they did before the pandemic.
  • The?North Central Massachusetts Chamber?recently hosted a?manufacturing tour?to showcase the importance of this growing sector and highlight the highly trained, well-paid job opportunities manufacturers create.
  • A recent?Texas Association of Business?(TAB) survey found that?rising health care costs?continue to put unique pressure on Texas business and TAB wants to see solutions from state lawmakers. “As businesses face inflationary costs on multiple fronts, what employers need now are policies that give them the flexibility to control health care costs, not new mandates that make health insurance more expensive for everyone,” said TAB President & CEO Glenn Hamer.
  • The?Toledo Regional Chamber?and City of Toledo announced the launch of The Ramp, presented by Kroger, a?resource portal for small business owners and entrepreneurs in Toledo. The new portal brings all the tools, knowledge and support that entrepreneurs need into a single platform powered by Economic Impact Catalyst (EIC).
  • Andrew Hoan, president and CEO of the?Portland Business Alliance, co-authored an op-ed praising a?successful tax restructuring?effort that will make the region more competitive. The hard-won effort required the approval of three local governments. Hoan praised the win as an “effective example of how the public and private sector can collaborate to improve public policy.”
  • With Veterans Day on the horizon, the?Dallas Regional Chamber?created a Veterans Day Resources page to share various tools to encourage companies to?support veteran hiring initiatives?and develop policies to support veteran employees.
  • The CEOs of the?Pennsylvania Chamber of Business & Industry?and?Texas Association of Business?have finalized a?World Series wager. The loser will pay the winner in snacks and beer unique to their states.
