South African context: CIMA vs ACCA

In South Africa, the prevailing view appears to prefer CIMA. CIMA is generally seen as more desirable than ACCA, albeit for subjective reasons. Of course, SAICA's CA (SA) has an impact on this (I will soon compare ACCA and SAICA), since it always appears to overshadow ACCA. Further more SAICA and CIMA have a cross-membership agreement where CIMA members with a degree can apply to take the SAICA APC exam, and upon passing this exam, they will become CA (SA). SAICA members can also take the CIMA SCS exam to become CGMA/ ACMA.
