ACC to build new Mashreq HQ

Arabian Construction Company (ACC) has been awarded the contract to build Mashreq’s new headquarters in Downtown Dubai.

Commenting on the contract win, Ghassan Merehbi, chairman of ACC,  said: “ACC has once more had its impressive construction and development credentials recognised, [after] being granted this prestigious construction project.

“We are delighted to be working with one of the best-known banking industry names in the Middle East, and to be able to add Mashreq Bank Headquarters to our portfolio of noteworthy projects across the UAE.”

At 151m in height, Mashreq’s new headquarters will feature four basements, a ground level, and 35 additional storeys.

Under the terms of the deal, the UAE-based contractor will construct the 151m-tall tower within a period of 28 months.

Once complete, Mashreq will relocate from its current headquarters in Deira, which has formed the base of the bank’s operations since its establishment in 1967.

The L-shaped structure, which will boast a square top crown designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill’s Chicago office, will cover a plot area of 4,868m2and a total built-up area of 71,292m2.
