Absurd
A baby crawling around the floor hears a word and learns its meaning very quickly. The mother says cat and points to their pet. It will not take long to understand.
The procedure is more drawn out for reading.
The baby sees letters, and gradually learns their names and sounds. Pre school generally makes students ready to read. They are taught to put the letters together and finally be able to decode the printed word, so the student can hear the word “cat”. Then there is an association between auditory memory and the child knows the letters c a t is their family pet.
The difference is absurd.
