This is how to do marketing...
I discovered this absolute masterclass in Marketing from Ricky Gervais.
And it sent me down a rabbit hole of Gervais marketing inspo GOLD.
Like his creative Netflix ad.
And the funny ad he did with his dog.
And his hilarious parodies.
Oh and this one with a fake doctor cracked me up.

Thought for the day
Here are 3 marketing red flags that show your marketing isn’t effective (and 3 solutions):
Red Flag 1: You can’t clearly define what is & isn’t working with your marketing (with data & evidence to back this up).
Solution: Set clear goals, KPIs & performance measurement tools before doing any marketing activity.
(We build bespoke dashboards for our client campaigns, that report the metrics that matter to them & that are accessible 24/7)
Red Flag 2: You can’t name one new strategy, tactic or platform you are currently testing.
Solution: Focus at least 20% of your marketing resource on testing something new! Top performers test - a lot!
(The way we’ve generated millions in sales for our clients is by testing a lot! Some tests fail, some do ok, some are a huge success).
Red Flag 3: You are trying to be everywhere, all the time.
Solution: Audit your current marketing activity & cut the bottom 80% that generates 20% of your income. Now put that resource into the 1-3 places that currently generate 80% of revenue.
(We are constantly looking to cut dead wood & scale up what is already working).

2 个月I wince at a lot of what he says, wondering how he manages to get away with it and I bloody love him for it. ??

2 个月Oh man Ricky Gervais? Love the guy, the way he says all the things he can’t say on his multimillion pound Netflix specials shown around the world? What a trail blazer! The low hanging “jokes” about trans folks and gay people? Ho boy what a genius, can’t wait to see his next show where he tells me the same jokes he told me 10 years ago. Not a massive fan Dan, no… ??
