Abnormal growth of canine tooth in a dog
A stray dog was chemically restrained and sedated for examination of the bucal cavity as a suspicious object was observed in the mouth. Upon close examination, we noticed that it was the canine tooth that grew abnormally and in a horizontal manner. The tooth was extracted and the bleeding was controlled.
The dog was then put on Clindamycin 300 mg, (10 mg/kg BID PO), and Meloxicam 7.5 mg (0.1 mg/kg, OID PO) for a week. He recovered well after two weeks.
