The idea of "women empowerment" has become a bit cliché in some way and hasn't always translated into significant changes. Nonetheless, I believe that those in leadership positions can make small but impactful efforts that, when accumulated over time, lead to meaningful results.
Multiple studies have shown that women in C-suite positions have comparatively a more positive impact on the 360 degree performance and efficiency of the company. Women leaders play a vital role in minimizing the gender gap, but also let’s not ignore the fact that women often need to prove themselves a bit more than their male colleagues and work even harder to gain the respect and a serious approach from their peers.?
I believe that amplifying diverse voices is the key to unlock an inclusive and safe environment, while also promoting peak performance and company culture. Even if we look 5 years back, the data screams that women are currently at a far better stage in the corporate framework. However, we still need to do better and put efforts in order to create a women-empowered workplace.?
Let’s look into some of the ways that help us create a women empowered workplaces:
Implement Fair and Inclusive Policies
Organizations need to go beyond mere talk and actually implement practices that promote equality. Establish a standard ensuring that everyone, regardless of gender, race, or sexual orientation, is treated equally. Prioritize the recognition and support of female and maternal health, ensure fair and equal pay for both male and female employees, and give due respect to the opinions of female employees just as you would for their male counterparts.
Mentor and Support Women
Making mentorship a key focus should be a constant approach, aiming to give back to the women who have the potential to become an impactful women leader. Whether it's the latest intern, a new team member, or even the pantry person, it’s important to? emphasize the importance of fostering an environment built on trust, honesty, and support. Offering guidance and mentorship to younger female colleagues serves as a catalyst for their personal and professional growth.

Promote an Environment of Safe and Open Communication
Leadership requires creating an environment where employees feel at ease sharing their experiences openly and honestly. Feedback, in any form, contributes to the leader's personal growth and the overall improvement of the company.
Facilitating open communication involves establishing clear guidelines for acceptable communication and behavior within the company and consistently enforcing these boundaries. Regular training for all employees ensures everyone is aware of these guidelines and has easy access to the appropriate resources or leaders within the company. This approach fosters a supportive environment that enables the flourishing of women in the workplace.
Providing accessible resources for women
We all are well aware of the fact that most of the women hesitate in reporting any kind of misbehavior and harassment, not just at the workplace but otherwise also. This is why it has become an essential thing to implement and make an environment of empowerment where no women should hesitate in sharing what she feels.?
Women often choose not to report instances of harassment or assault, beyond the emotional toll and trauma involved, due to the challenges posed by inaccessible resources and a cumbersome reporting process. Employers should prioritize the establishment of clear, user-friendly, and comfortable reactive processes to address these concerns.
We must follow how prominent women leaders are bringing dynamic changes in how women should be treated at work places and how we can encourage them to perform their best.
