Resilience, empathy and the ability to communicate globally have recently emerged as being more important leadership qualities than before the Covid-19 crisis began.
This was communicated in a global survey by CEMS, a global alliance of 33 leading business schools (such as HEC Paris and LSE), 70 multinational companies and 7 NGOs. Their findings of over 1,700 professionals revealed that over one third will communicate more frequently with colleagues based in other countries, over the coming months. In addition, approximately one third of respondents stated that the new way of working, done mainly through digital platforms, could have a detrimental impact on the quality of these relationships.
So, what does this imply? It means that leaders today must make sure they help their global teams to maintain high-quality, productive working relationships in order to foster business collaboration.

4 年Here in France companies organized an online lunch date with certain teams and had pizza delivered. There are online cocktail partes too. It's so important to be more relaxed in online communication. That smiling face and easy laugh bring down the pressure. Bosses can be an example of relaxed, more personal online communication.

4 年I love this, Melanie! Particularly the skills you mention in your intro: "Resilience, empathy and the ability to communicate globally". I really like the fact that this global crisis has highlighted a necessary need to shift the ways in which we communicate and 'do business' towards a more human, more honest, even more 'heart-centric' model(s). Understanding and empathy are definitely some of the core keys to unlock our future potential... Thanks, Melanie!
